BLACKSTAR FALLING's debut album This Is The Place is officially released on all digital platforms on Friday 3rd July 2026. A hard copy gatefold sleeve CD follows shortly afterwards.

This Is The Place is a collection of eleven original and infectious slices of post-punk alt-pop. Catchy choruses and punchy rhythms explode from its tracks, the result of more than a year of dedicated rehearsals at Edinburgh's Banana Row Studios. This band is tight.

​

The album was recorded at Mark Morrow Audio Studios in Granton over two intensive sessions in June 2025 and April 2026, by BLACKSTAR FALLING's back-to-basics rock'n'roll line-up - Colin Salter (guitar and vocals), James Usherwood (bass and vocals) and Dave Sim (drums, percussion and vocals). It's the classic power trio format and it delivers.

The band has been promoting the album with a series of gigs since February 2026 and the new songs have all bedded down well into the live set. There'll be many mpre live appearances over the coming months - check out the GIGS page on the band's website for more details.

This Is The Place is the second recording from BLACKSTAR FALLING. The band released a four-track EP Beyond in November 2024, songs from which still feature in our live set.
